Adeniyi Damilola is a painter based in Lagos, Nigeria. His portraits, composed of acrylic on canvas, marry realist and surrealist techniques, begetting works that feel mythical and yet distinctly contemporary. Unique to Damilola’s style are his subjects’ faces: painted in thin lines like grains of wood, which give the figures a sculptural quality

Damilola obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Babcock University, Nigeria. Since 2016, his career as an artist has developed rapidly, culminating in a brand of his own in DMC (Dami Mr Creative) art studios. Most recently, Damilola was a participant in 40 Under 40, presented by WHATIFTHEWORLD and Unusual Suspects, a group exhibition presented by African Artists’ Foundation in Lagos.
