Andrzej Nowicki
Born (1981) in Kielce, Poland, Andrzej Nowicki obtained his Masters degree from the Michaelis School of Fine Art. A recipient of the Irma Stern Scholarship (2005 - 2007), he presented his debut solo exhibition at Whatiftheworld / Gallery in August 2007 to both critical and commercial success. Titled The Gloaming, it contained a selection of his disquieting gouache and watercolour paintings and drawings. After completing a collaborative session at David Krut Print Workshop, he presented Sleep Depot (March 2008), a collection of watercolours, prints and lone oil on canvas and single monoprint. Recently selected as a Bright Young Thing by Art South Africa Magazine, Andrzej Nowicki currently lives and works in New York City.
