CO-OP Launches in Johannesburg
Please join us on Thursday, October 08 18h00 for the launch of CO-OP, our new project space in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. CO-OP is a collaboration between DOKTER AND MISSES and WHATIFTHEWORLD in association with OPEN. The aim is to create a platform for new and emerging work in the fields of contemporary art and design, featuring a diverse program of exhibitions, events and exclusive collaborations.
In collaboration with the SPRING ART TOUR 2009, CO-OP will present its debut exhibitions titled Manifesto and Morf, showcasing a selection of recent works by some of South Africa’s most exciting young artists together with design by Dokter and Misses. Manifesto will offer the first glance into an upcoming programme that aims to present the best of emerging contemporary South African Art to the city of Johannesburg. The exhibition will also include the first presentation by BLOM & MACGARRY PRESENTS, a new initiative focused on young artists not currently represented by galleries. In the adjoining ramp space, Dokter and Misses will present Morf – mutated versions of their latest utilitarian bent metal range of storage and furniture.
